FAQ
Q. What is Microblading?
A. Microblading is a process where individual hair strokes are tattooed, mimicking eyebrow hair. The semi-permanent pigment is deposited into the skin by using a manual handheld tool and a very small blade. This procedure is preferred over the traditional "sharpie" tattooed eyebrows.
Q. Is it painful?
A. Pain level varies between clients. Topical anesthetic is applied 20 minutes prior to the procedure. Additional anesthetic is used during the procedure to maintain comfort.
Q. How long does the session take?
A. Your first appointment will last about 2 - 2.5 hours. During the session, anesthetic is applied for 20 minutes. I will then shape out your brow for your approval. Next, pigment colour will be selected. Once you are satisfied with your choices, the actual tattooing will start.
Your touch-up appointment will last about 1 hour.
Q. How long does this last?
A. Generally, this procedure will last 6-24 months. If your skin type is more oily, the hairstrokes will heal into a more faded powdery look - it will not last as long. Whereas a normal to dry skin type, the hair strokes will last longer and heal more crisp.
Q. Will a touch-up be needed?
A. A touch up approx. 6-8 weeks post procedure is needed to ensure the longevity of the colour. At most, 2 additional touch ups may be needed but I have yet to have a client needing 2 additional touch ups.
Q. Can I get my touch-up before 4 weeks?
A. No, as your skin's healing process takes time. We do not want to traumatize the skin and potentially cause scarring.
Q. What can I expect during the healing process?
A. Your eyebrows may feel sore after the procedure. The colour immediately after tattooing will appear very sharp and bold for the next 7-10 days, but will soften as the healing process finishes. As the skin starts the healing process, you will experience flaking and/or scab..
